Wirth’s Family Cave: This custom bar and built-in cabinetry around the entertainment wall completes the basement project.
We’re really happy with how the overall project turned out, although it took quite a while to complete with changes along the way, the finished project is definitely a portfolio worthy project. Some of the features of the bar area includes: frosted glass cabinet doors, white quartz countertop that looks great against the dark stained cabinets, two built-in coolers for wine and other beverages, an integrated wine storage shelf above the coolers, a solid wood counter at the back, soft-close doors and drawers, a multitude of flexible storage, a dedicated trash/recylcling pull out deep drawer, and mini-sink. There’s also a well thought out access to the existing sump pit in the back corner. For continuity throughout the house, the cabinetry matches the style that already existed upstairs.
This basement is so nice and bright – the custom dark stain has such a depth and tone to it and contrast with the white quartz countertop as well as the white tile and other lighter accents looks sharp.
The built-ins on either side of the firepalce and wall mounted tv provide storage for anything you can throw at them. There’s also plenty of display space on the upper shelf towers. They also have soft-close hardware on the over-sized drawers and media cupboards. The custom built wood counters finish these off with the same deep stain providing a premium space to display art work under dedicated recessed lights.
